Alright folks, buckle up. Went hunting for that Lost Finding Nitesh Central Park spot today and lemme tell ya, it ain’t exactly screaming for attention. Figured I’d share the chaos ’cause someone else might be tearing their hair out looking for it too.
The Damn Hunt Begins
So, headed into Central Park this morning. Sun was out, people everywhere, you know the drill. Assumed this Nitesh thing would be plastered with signs or something. Big mistake. Grabbed my phone, opened the map, kinda wandered towards the middle-ish part of the park. You know, Sheep Meadow area. Seemed logical, right? Wrong.
Started pacing around the perimeter of the meadow, scanning benches, rocks, trees – anything that looked like it might have one of those weird little installations. Felt like I was playing “Where’s Waldo?” with extra steps and a lot more walking. Nothing. Zip. Zero. Getting annoyed, obviously.
Getting Sidetracked and Pissed
Started second-guessing the whole thing. Was it near the Bethesda Fountain? Power-walked over there, dodging tourists taking selfies with the statue. Checked the terrace, the arcade underneath… still no dice. Checked the map again. Spotted some random forums mentioning the ‘East Green’. “Fine,” I thought. Headed vaguely east. Found a patch of green near some playgrounds. Wandered around like a lost puppy. Saw cool rocks, lots of squirrels hustling, still no Nitesh.
Phone battery was starting to sweat. This was getting ridiculous. Sat on a random bench feeling kinda stupid. Why was a random art thing hiding so well? Saw some park workers trimming hedges. Almost asked them, but figured they’d just look at me funny. Kept scrolling on my dying phone instead.
The “Duh” Moment (And The Spot!)
Finally stumbled across a mention of the Dene Slope. “East Green?!” Almost yelled. I was way off before! Dene Slope? Had to be near the Metropolitan Museum side, right? Trudged back towards the East side entrance near 5th Ave and like… 82nd Street? Yeah, around there.
- Found the Dene Slope sign – okay, getting warmer.
- Wandered down the path, looking for something… anything different.
- Then, BAM. Almost tripped over it. No giant sign, no flashing lights.
- Just this kinda smallish, dark stone sculpture nestled low in the ground near trees.
- Looked like a weird, worn map or some kinda cracked landscape.
- Took me a second to register: Yup. That’s the damn Nitesh “Lost Finding” installation.
Final Thoughts? It Hides Well.
Seriously. It’s small. It’s low. It blends in. Unless you’re literally staring at the ground near the Dene Slope path, south side of The Met overlooking the park, you’ll breeze right past it. Snapped a quick pic with a big, dumb grin, mostly out of relief that the search was over. Phone died right after. Perfect timing. So yeah, that’s the scoop. If you’re hunting that sneaky Nitesh spot?
