Okay so I’ve been wanting to join this local group LSG NJ everyone talks about. People kept saying it’s awesome for meeting folks who share my hobbies. But here’s the thing – nobody would tell me exactly WHERE it is or HOW to find it. Just “oh it’s around”. Super annoying.
First Try: Googled Like Crazy
Grabbed my laptop and started searching “LSG NJ meetup” everywhere. Got like ten pages of nonsense:
- Some weird event from 2017
- A closed Facebook page with 3 members
- Clickbait articles about NJ tourism
After an hour? Nothing. Felt like trying to catch smoke with my bare hands.
Step Two: Annoyed Real Life People
Next morning I went full detective mode. Visited three places:
- The community center bulletin board – zilch
- Local coffee shop – barista gave me shrug emoji face
- Bookstore owner claimed he didn’t know what LSG stood for
At this point I’m thinking maybe this group is just a Jersey urban legend.
Last Chance: Just Showed Up
Then I remembered someone mentioned they meet Wednesday nights near Riverside Park. Drove there feeling dumb – how you find people in a park at night? Parked near the basketball courts.
Walked around shining my phone flashlight like an idiot. Saw shadows near picnic tables and just yelled “Y’ALL LSG NJ OR DRUG DEALERS?”
Turns out they WERE the group! They laughed and said I found the right spot.
Turns out LSG just means “Local Social Gang” which sounds way more hardcore than their knitting circle vibes. Now I show up every Wednesday with my half-finished scarf project. Moral of the story? Sometimes you gotta crash random parks at night.
