Man, today was one of those days where I needed a sharp, high-res Akash logo ASAP for a presentation mockup. Thought it would be easy peasy. Boy, was I wrong at first.
First Stop: The Official Source
Straight up, I headed to where I thought logic lives – the project’s official site. Hit the footer, dug around the ‘About’ section, even poked the media kit link if there was one. Crap. Either the links were broken or the only logo they had up looked like it got stretched in some weird resize accident. Tiny and pixelated. Total letdown.
Google Images Fail
Alright, fine. Did the obvious next thing: fired up Google Images. Typed “akash logo”, hit search. What a mess. Pages filled with:
- Tiny thumbnails good only for ants
- Watermarked junk from random template sites
- Blurry screenshots someone took with a potato
Clicking “Tools” and setting the size to “Large” barely helped. Still mostly junk. Felt like chasing ghosts.

Saw a few promising links mentioning SVG or EPS files – that usually means clean, scaleable quality. But then hit a new wall: most of these links dumped me on those shady download portals screaming “PAY NOW!” or demanding signups for crap I didn’t want. Screw that noise.
The GitHub Lightbulb Moment
Sat there grinding my gears. Where else do tech projects stash official assets? Bingo. GitHub. Headed straight there. Searched for the main Akash Network repo. Clicked into it, scanned for folders like “/assets”, “/brand”, or “/docs/images”. Jackpot! Found a legit “/brand” folder buried a couple levels down. Inside? Clean, beautiful SVG files of the logo. Just sitting there. Free. No paywalls, no begging. Downloaded that sucker instantly.
SVG Is Your Friend
That SVG file? Gold. Opened it up in Inkscape (free tool, lifesaver). From there, making an HD PNG or JPG was dead simple:
- Opened the SVG file.
- Scaled it up as big as I needed – crystal clear, no fuzzy edges.
- Just exported it right out as a high-resolution PNG.
Boom. Perfect quality logo, exactly the size I needed, in about 30 seconds after finding the SVG.
The Takeaway Mess
So yeah, wasted way too much time bouncing off dead ends before hitting the motherlode. Lesson learned the hard way? For legit open-source projects, skip the surface noise of random image sites and shady portals. Their actual code repo (like GitHub) is often the most reliable, official source for brand assets. Hunt for that “/brand” or “/assets” folder like a treasure map. It usually ends the frustration fast. Everything else? Mostly a time-sucking mess.
